(formerly known as Computer Associates) to win asylum on behalf of a Kenyan national who had been repeatedly persecuted in his homeland. Nixon Peabody and CA provided their services pro bono, which means the legal services they provided were for free.

Nixon Peabody LLP, one of the largest law firms in the country with strong roots in Upstate New York, has agreed to defend the Town of Hancock, pro bono, in a potential litigation concerning the Town of Hancock’s response to the extraordinary floods in June and July 2006, which was recently threatened by Friends of the Upper Delaware River. Because it believes the Town quickly and actively responded to the flooding in order to minimize the damages incurred, and because this small, rural town cannot afford legal counsel, Nixon Peabody agreed to provide legal services to the Town of Hancock on a pro bono basis, which means the legal services it provides are for free.
