Nixon Peabody Advises Novelx in Acquisition; Company Joins Agilent TechnologiesLos Angeles and San Jose, CA. Novelx, a California-based designer and manufacturer of field emission scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), has joined Agilent Technologies, one of the world’s premier measurement companies. Novelx was advised by the Nixon Peabody LLP team of Silicon Valley corporate transactions partner Jeffrey Selman and Los Angeles intellectual property associate Amy Cano. 2/11/2010 As part of the deal, Novelx joins Agilent’s Nanomeasurement Operation within the company’s Electronic Measurement Group. Among Novelx’s portfolio, Agilent was particularly interested in the award-winning Novelx mySEM, a compact scanning electron microscope that can be installed easily into available lab space or closer to production lines to image and characterize energy-sensitive nanomaterials, biomaterials, polymers, thin films, and membranes. The mySEM is a highly sought-after solution, as it delivers capabilities previously only available in high-end field emission SEMs at a fraction of the cost. |
