Nixon Peabody Expands Labor and Employment Practice; Former Member of the U.S. National Labor Relations Board Joins FirmWashington, DC. International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP is pleased to announce that former member of the U.S. National Labor Relations Board, John N. Raudabaugh, has joined the firm’s Labor and Employment practice. Mr. Raudabaugh, who will be based in the firm’s Washington, DC, office, is an experienced labor and employee relations law counsel serving multinational corporations in policy, litigation, and regulatory compliance counseling. 3/1/2010 Mr. Raudabaugh, who joins Nixon Peabody from Baker & McKenzie, previously served for four years as member for the U.S. National Labor Relations Board. A presidential nominee, Mr. Raudabaugh, decided more than 4,000 federal labor law representation and unfair labor practice cases. In addition to his substantive experience in labor and employee relations law and related litigation, Mr. Raudabaugh is well-versed in labor considerations in corporate transactions, responding to union corporate campaigns, strikes, and injunction proceedings, collective bargaining negotiations, social responsibility, compliance, and comparative international law standards. “John brings years of experience providing counsel to multinational corporations in complex labor and employee relations matters and related litigation,” said Jeffrey Tanenbaum, leader of the firm’s Labor and Employment practice. “Given John’s experience at the U.S. National Labor Relations Board, he is well-versed in helping our clients find the most efficient means possible to reach a positive outcome for their most difficult legal challenges.” In 2009, Mr. Raudabaugh represented U.S. employers at the International Labour Conference, 98th Session, addressing the global jobs crisis and co-chaired a team of attorneys on behalf of the United Nations Development Programme addressing the elimination of the worst forms of child and forced labor through access to justice, remediation, and employment and labor rights. He has participated in labor and employment law missions to China, Chile, and Eritrea on behalf of the U.S. departments of Labor and State and has served as an adjunct professor of labor law at Northwestern University, University of Chicago, and Emory University law schools.
