New England Recruiting Coordinator

We are looking for a motivated recruiter to join our Boston, MA, office. This is a terrific opportunity for an individual to join a dynamic Legal Personnel Department. The position reports directly to and works closely with the firm’s Director of Entry-Level Attorney Recruiting and Director of Lateral Attorney Recruiting and will be responsible for both entry-level and lateral attorney recruiting for our Boston, Manchester, NH, and Providence, RI, offices.

Responsibilities: Provide support relating to law student, entry-level, judicial clerk, and lateral recruitment, including but not limited to prescreening resumes, coordinating campus logistics, meeting/greeting candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating travel arrangements. Coordinate the Boston Office Summer Associate Program, including working with the Boston Recruiting Committee for mentors, work assignment coordinators, evaluations, organizing all social events and programs. Provide on-site assistance with lateral recruiting efforts for our Boston, Manchester, and Providence offices. Responsible for database entry and status updates using viRecruit.

Our Legal Personnel Department has a team orientation, so this position will work closely with the Recruiting Coordinators in our other offices on firmwide projects, providing back-up support as needed.

The New England Recruiting Coordinator will maintain open communications and build strong relationships with internal clients (direct supervisors, attorneys, staff) and external clients (recruits, headhunters, law school career services personnel), be able to adapt to changing and challenging work situations, and grasp and apply new ideas. This is a full-time position with frequent need for overtime hours.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience required with a minimum of three years of recruiting experience in a law firm. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work efficiently and in an organized fashion in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Regional Marketing Manager

Location

This individual holds a key marketing leadership role and is the repository of local market knowledge for the New England Region. The manager participates in the ongoing development and management of office business and marketing plans; development and monitoring of regional budgets; and is responsible for the day-to-day marketing activities to support the region.

Manage practice specific events in the regions working with client service managers on strategy, execution, and support for follow-up activities. Ability to work with individuals at all levels— Director of Communications, Office Managing Partners, and Office Administrators— to develop, implement, and update office business plans for the region. Strategize with attorneys to identify and implement local marketing initiatives such as client events, announcements, mailings, and presentations.

Specific responsibilities/expertise include:

Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist will play a key role in implementing our internal and external communications strategies through writing, editing, and coordinating print, electronic, and multimedia publications. The Communications Specialist will work extensively with the Senior Communications Manager on both long-term and on-demand projects. The Communications Specialist will also partner with the Media Relations Specialist on a regular basis. This is an exempt position requiring flexibility in terms of work hours. Occasional travel to other firm offices or events will be required.

Responsibilities:
Writes and edits firm publications including newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, web content, presentations and more; gathers content from multiple sources and ushers projects through necessary reviews by the attorneys and communications managers; and prepares and distributes the finished product.

  • Assists with maintaining the communication dashboard and other systems (including InterAction, Sharepoint, and Proposal Management System) that are warehouses of information required for project management and reporting.
  • Provides project support on an as-needed basis to marketing team.

Graphic Designer

This position is a firmwide position that is based in the Rochester office and reports to the Director of Knowledge Services and Media Services. Media Services is a part of the Information Services Department. This position provides the following to all offices: graphic design, business graphics, trial demonstratives, visual exhibits and aids, digital photography, flash animations, and presentation design services in print or electronic format.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare visual aids, including maps, charts, diagrams, litigation exhibits, electronic presentations, timelines, floor plans, desktop publishing, etc.
  • In addition to preparing graphics projects, a crucial part of the job involves meeting with the client/attorney to understand the goal of the project and, when necessary, interpreting the information supplied and developing a solution that achieves the goal, all the while considering cost concerns as well as time frame. This is often done in conjunction with Director.
  • Design and produce invitations, brochures, posters, illustrations, animations, and e-communications for internal use by practice groups and administrative departments.
  • Miscellaneous duties include: back up other team members and handle special projects per Chief Knowledge Officer and/or Knowledge Services/Media Services Director.
  • Continuing self-education in computer graphics and design area, attend training seminars/courses as identified by Director, review professional publications.
  • Admin. responsibilities: maintain files, input time sheets, document job statistics, order supplies as needed, and prepare invoices that are incurred from ordering supplies or dealing with vendors.
  • Meet timeframes and project deadlines as requested by Director.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design or Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communication Design or equivalent degree.
  • Working knowledge of computer graphics software with proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products (In-Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat); Visio (or other CAD software knowledge), TimeMap, Sanction, and all Microsoft products with expertise in PowerPoint required.
  • Working knowledge of pre-press production, offset printing, and electronic distribution.
  • Aptitude for expanding technical skills through training.

Help Desk Specialist

Responsibilities: This individual assists in supporting the firm’s hardware/software as directed by the firm’s Help Desk Manager. The scope of support includes:

  • Provide hardware/software technical support as necessary:
    • assist in using functionality of firm applications, including but not limited to MS Office, Document Management, Remote Access, Printers, BlackBerry
    • investigate and identify resolutions to problems as they arise
    • provide the training group with recommendations on topics to cover based on call content
    • advise the training group when additional user training is necessary
    • contribute to a knowledge base for responsible products
    • embrace Total Contact Ownership for calls according to the SLAs in place
  • Provide assistance in testing new applications and/or upgrades to existing applications
  • Recommend system changes and upgrades when necessary to keep product portfolio free from defects and current with supported releases
  • Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge for responsible software

Qualifications: This position requires excellent customer service and communication skills with end-users at varying levels (attorneys, paralegals, legal secretaries, staff, etc.), vendors, and IT personnel. A background in Information Technology is required. Help Desk experience is preferred.

Comments: This position will involve shift-work to allow for 7x24 coverage. This position is currently for Sunday 12-8:30pm, Monday through Wednesday 9:30 am-6:00 pm and Saturday 9am-5:30pm. (During the initial training period, this schedule may vary.)
